(What still needs to be done?) Registration is open!
Thank you to everyone who has already registered for Kursa!
For those who haven't yet – please register as soon as possible, so that we can more effectively plan classes and activities!
Travel to Kursa
When do I arrive? For those driving, we look forward to welcoming you beginning at 12:00 PM! A buffet lunch will be available from 12:00–2:00 PM for visiting parents and students.
When should I book my flight? We recommend arriving in Seattle (SeaTac) in the morning or by early afternoon, around 3:00 PM, to allow enough time to catch a shuttle to Kursa. Travel time from SeaTac to Shelton can take 2–3 hours on weekends. If you did not have flight information when registering online with Active Camp, please fill out the Shuttle Google Form, so that we have all relevant information: https://forms.gle/x1KRpdAecbdj2yjG9
Financial Aid
We believe finances shouldn’t be a barrier to attending Kursa! Financial Aid is available for families in need, considering factors like income, single-parent households, multiple children enrolled in Latvian educational programs, foreign exchange rates, career changes, family illness, or other hardships.
For those seeking Latvian organization sponsored stipends, many are offered through organizations such as Daugavas Vanagi, local church groups, and Latvian organizations. For a list of suggestions, visit kursa.org/stipendijas
To apply for Kursa Financial Assistance, please complete the Financial Assistance form by May 15th.
Important Arrival Dates! Please mark your calendars:
📅 Saturday, July 5th – Arrival to Kursa and Move-in; Brief Opening Ceremony at 6:00 PM
📅 Sunday, July 6th – First day of activities
📅 Monday, July 7th – Regular schedule with classes begins
If you have any questions, please write to: admin@kursa.org
⚠ Please note: inquiries may be answered in English. We received a question last year regarding English correspondence in relation to our Latvian programming.
As with language immersion programs, the language used for registration, financial aid, and logistical matters is separate from our educational curriculum.
Thank you for your understanding.
